Wendy is an artist, illustrator & art educator based in Mississauga, Ontario who gets to draw, design and paint everyday.
Her desire to be an artist began as a child with crayons and colouring books in her Ottawa Valley hometown. She went on to earn an HBFA from the University of Toronto/Sheridan College Art & Art History program, an MFA from the University of Victoria, British Columbia and an Interior Design diploma from IAOD, Toronto.
In 2007, Wendy founded Tiny Brushstrokes in her home-based studio to share her sketchbook drawings & canvas paintings which are small in scale, detailed in nature and feature objects that evoke memories.
She specializes in kid-friendly, small batch collections of creative products & custom artwork to celebrate life’s big moments or to make your house a home.
As her small business and artwork evolves, a painted illustration portfolio is growing for her artwork to be included in children’s books, magazines, packaging and promotional materials for fellow entrepreneurs.
Her dedication to connecting children with visual art fuels her work as an art educator for children where she promotes the importance of creativity, imagination and innovation through art beginning at the preschool level.
In 2016, she developed the Tiny Art Box, a Canadian subscription-based art experience for early childhood which connects children with hands-on art experiences.
